A client from Brick contacted Auto Image while researching a retailer to sell and install the 2005 Ford Excursion accessories he wanted. We met with the client and looked over the truck to understand his goals. After discussing what he wanted to achieve, we worked with him to select products that would look great and offer excellent performance and reliability. The client loved our plan and gave us the go-ahead to order the components and schedule the installation.
Fabtech 6-inch Suspension System
The client wanted to raise the height of his truck by 6 inches. We suggested the Fabtech K2044DL coilover conversion and suspension lift kit. The kit includes all the parts required to convert the front axle from a leaf spring to a coil-over system. A set of Dirt Logic 4.0 coilover shocks that include a 1.25-inch piston rod and an external reservoir ensure the front end will handle any challenge the truck faces. The kit includes rear leaf spring relocation brackets and new rear shock absorbers that will work with the increased height. Once the suspension installation was complete, we double-checked the torque of all the fasteners to ensure everything would be reliable.
Fuel Wheels and Nitto Tires
The client wanted an aggressive wheel and tire package to complement the newfound ground clearance. The client chose 10-inch wide, 20-inch diameter Fuel Hostage wheels. We installed a set of Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires in a 27 x 13.50R20 size to give the truck a fantastic look. We used our Hunter Revolution tire mounting machine to prevent damage to the wheels during the installation process. Our Hunter Road Force Touch balancer ensures that the truck will drive straight and without any vibration.
Cosmetic Accents Tie it All Together
We wrapped up the project by installing a few cosmetic upgrades. A new Paramount 46-0204 Evolution stainless steel grille makes the truck look even meaner. The black powder-coat finish will keep the grille looking great for years. We also installed a set of Anzo 111117 LED Projector headlights. The new lights have a black body that adds to the “murdered out” look the client has chosen for his truck.
