It’s undeniable that the sleek design of luxury cars instantly gives them power over the road. Add tinted windows into the mix, and these vehicles are an even bigger force to be reckoned with.
Car window tint is a simple way to give your luxury vehicle a whole new look and feel. When done professionally and correctly, it can really elevate your ride. However, if you don’t take proper care of your newly tinted windows, your vehicle might start to look quite the opposite of impressive, and maybe even a little run down. Not to mention, neglecting your new installment could be a huge waste of your money.
Don’t let this keep you away from all that window tint has to offer. In this guide, we’ll be explaining how to care for your new installation to keep it looking flawless for as long as possible.
And if you’re looking for Mercedes, BMW, or Audi window tinting near you, you’ve come to the right place. At Auto Image, our professional installers have mastered car window tint, and have all the tools and knowledge necessary to deliver you with stunning results made to last.
Why Does it Matter?
After your installation is complete, everything is good to go, right? Well, not quite. Once the window film is applied to the surface of the glass, its adhesives need time to dry, making it extremely fragile. Even the smallest mistake can cause damage to the application.
Caring for Your Tinted Windows: 3 Easy Tips
The way you care for your new tinted windows can make or break the quality of your installment. One of the most important things to remember with freshly tinted windows is that they aren’t quite ready for use right away, and what you do following your installment can impact its quality in the long run. Consider these three tips to ensure you get the best results possible out of your new installment.
1. Keep Your Windows Rolled Up
When your car window tint is first installed, avoid rolling down your windows. The adhesives need time to set, and friction from doing so can scrape film off the glass or cause peeling. Instead, leave the windows rolled up for about two to four days after installation.
2. Be Patient
You might notice haziness, water pockets, or bubbles start to form in your newly tinted windows, but don’t panic or try to take matters into your own hands. This is completely normal and will eventually subside. These pesky elements are caused by excess moisture in between the glass and film and will evaporate over time. You can expect them to be gone anywhere from two days to a month, depending on the climate you live in.
3. Wait to Wash
With your newly tinted windows, you might want to head to the car wash to really get the full effect. However, this could add more moisture to the film and alter its drying process. It’s best to hold off on washing until your installation is completely dry. Once it’s finally time to clean them, use a microfiber cloth. Because the tint is installed on the inside of the window, it shouldn’t need too deep of a cleaning.
