The creation of a new Stealthbox solution starts by identifying a new platform. JL Audio brings the vehicle into their head office in Miramar, Florida, and the team scours every inch of the interior to find the perfect location for a subwoofer upgrade. Spare tire wells, storage pockets, behind and under truck seats, and center console locations are common choices. Once JL design and builds a prototype, they listen to it in the vehicle. The performance has to meet their standards before they put it into production.
JL constructs each enclosure from fiberglass to maximize the available airspace for each driver. Correct enclosure volume is crucial to reliable operation.
