A client from Belmar contacted Auto Image in Brick while researching 2017 Toyota Tundra audio and performance upgrades. We invited the client to the store to understand his goals for the improvements he wanted to make, then set to work on developing a plan that would meet his goals. The client liked our plan and gave us the go-ahead to schedule an appointment to begin work.
Tundra Suspension Work
We started with a BDS 818F 7-inch lift kit that includes external reservoir Fox Racing shocks and all the brackets and hardware to install the system. New front steering knuckles help to ensure the suspension geometry remains safe and reliable. We added a Power Stop front brake kit and upgraded the rear brake pads to ensure the truck would be able to stop quickly and reliably.
Wheel and Tire Package
The client chose 20 x 12-inch Fuel Rampage wheels in a chrome and gloss-black finish. We mounted Nitto Ridge Grappler 35×12.50R20 tires on them and balanced them using our Hunter equipment.
5.7L V8 Power Upgrades
To improve the power production and efficiency of the 5.7L V8, we installed a set of 48-46008-YN long tube headers, a 49-46008-B Mach Force-Xp 3-inch exhaust, a 54-76003 Momentum GT Pro 5R Stage-2 SI Intake system and a 46-38005 Silver Bullet throttle body spacer from aFe Power. All of these parts bolt right up to the motor and really bring it to life! A Bully Dog 40417 GT Platinum Gas tuning system allows us to maximize the engine calibration for those upgrades.
Tundra Audio and Entertainment System Enhancements
We installed a set of a Focal FDP Amplifiers in the truck and replaced the front speakers with a Focal PS165F3 Flax 3-way component set. We upgraded the rear speakers with a set of Focal PC165 coaxial speakers. A JL Audio processor handles the system integration and tuning.
A set of Vizualogic Perfect Match Android tablet replacement headrest monitors provides nearly unlimited entertainment options for the rear-seat passengers.
An Optima Yellow-Top batteries replace the stock battery and provide extra energy storage and enhanced durability.
Radar Detector and Lighting Upgrades
We wrapped up the project with a K40 RL360 custom-installed radar detector and laser defuser system. The front defusers are mounted in the new TRD Pro front grille to provide excellent range. Rigid Industries rock lights, LED cube lights in the front and rear bumper, and single-row LED light bar add massive output at night. All the lighting is controlled by a Switch Pro panel we installed in the center console. The white finish on the LED lights blends perfectly with the Super White paint on the truck. We also installed new Spyder projector-style headlights.
