Clients bring their cars, trucks and SUVs to Auto Image to have their windows tinted for many different reasons… Some clients are after privacy and safety. Others are more interested in the cosmetic improvement that a quality window film can provide. Still others are looking for protection from harmful rays from the sun. We recommended the 3M Color Stable Window Films to those clients that like a nice dark tint, but want to maintain excellent optical clarity and reliability.
Color Stable Film Options
The Color Stable series of films offers four different film shades. At the lightest end of the scale is the CS50 film that allows 50% of light to pass. At the opposite end of the scale is CS5. This ‘limo tint’ allows about 5% of visible light to pass. All Color Stable films offer 99% UV Rejection to protect the leather and upholstery surfaces of your vehicle from fading. A film with 99% UV Rejection also protects your skin like a sunblock lotion with an SPF of 1000. Statistics show that exposure to the sun causes 90% of all skin cancers.
3M has designed the Color Stable series of films to serve as a thermal barrier as well. Total Solar Energy Rejection varies by shade from 35% for the CS50 film, up to 57% for the CS5. Blocking Infrared heating energy from the sun will keep your vehicle cooler, and help your air conditioning system perform better.
Premium Film Characteristics
3M Color Stable films are manufactured using Nano-carbon polyester construction. The film offers very low optical distortion, so your vision stays clear and focused. 3M stands behind the Color Stable films with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against peeling, bubbling, fading or turning purple. The high-strength adhesive used on Color Stable films will help to protect the contents of your vehicle from smash-and-grab break-ins.
